Job Description

Schaeffler, a global industrial and automotive supplier, is seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Fort Mill, SC location. This position will focus on increasing the company growth opportunities through the development and support of innovative electro-mechanical product designs.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Develop new electro-mechanical products including concept generation, product design, product launch
  • Provide technical support to customers and field sales for existing electro-mechanical products such as direct drive motors, embedded sensors (vibration, temperature, position), linear and rotary actuators
  • Optimize electro-mechanical design for volume production
  • Work with suppliers to identify appropriate components for electro-mechanical products
  • Penetrate customer engineering departments
  • Extract application information from the customer
  • Establish a direct line of communication between Schaeffler and the customer to enhance efficient execution of engineering tasks
  • Coordinate resolution of development issues
  • Create benchmarking studies comparing Schaeffler products and competitor products

Job Requirements

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics or equivalent industry and technical experience
  • At least five (5) years engineering experience applied to electro-mechanical systems and components including some or all of the following:
    • PCB assembly design
    • BLDC motor design
    • Motion control
    • Integration of position feedback sensors
    • Software integration as it relates to motion control and sensor feedback
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Established engineering knowledge in the application and development of analytical solutions to complex engineering problems
  • Discipline and creativity in applying skills to work assignments and projects
  • Minimum supervision necessary in solving complex engineering problems
