Job Description

 
The Barden Corporation, a division of Schaeffler Group USA, is seeking a Maintenance Manager to support our Danbury Campus, which includes both Danbury and Winsted locations. The position will plan,
organize, direct, supervise, and control the activities of assigned manufacturing service functions including building and grounds maintenance, security, and all tool and machine related functions to achieve specified objectives with regards to service, performance, budgets, and timelines.
 
 
 
 
  • Administer the above discipline in an efficient effective manor.
  • Define, recommend, and implement change to reduce cost, improve plant facilities services, and control energy expenditures.
  • Assist in selection of capital equipment and layouts as well as the sale of surplus equipment.
  • Determine and maintain orderly schedules of all work, subcontracting work, as necessary, to keep schedules reasonable.
  • Responsible for the identification and the control of the preventative maintenance program.
  • Directly control all general factory expenses accounts.
  • Administer all the cribs plus P.O.’s to insure stocking requirements.
  • Responsible for plant and grounds safety and security as well as the company fleet of vehicles.
  • Coordinate special projects with appropriate city and state agencies.

Job Requirements

Qualifications – External
 
Technical requirements includes a knowledge of overall plant maintenance, tool design, and tool room practices, machine repair, HVAC, boiler operations, basic electrics, and Crib control, plant security, pertinent state and local ordinances governing factory operations, OSHA/EPA regulations, budgetary control and bearing process. Educational requirements are an engineering degree or equivalent with 7-10 years of supervisory and technical experience.  Human relation skills must be well developed.  Must work closely and effectively with all functional groups to provide prompt and effective service.
