Job Description

Schaeffler, a global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking an Associate Product Manager - Tapered Roller Bearings (TRB) for our Fort Mill, SC location. This position is responsible for providing leadership for the TRB product life cycle management. The Associate Product Manager will be the customer applications expert, and supports pricing and price yield management for the TRB product line.   

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert of the Tapered Roller Bearings product line market with in-depth knowledge of the scope of sub-products offered, key players, and market share
  • Develop and execute strategy to grow market share using SWOT analysis, working with Industry Managers, and supporting Field Sales
  • Use CRM system and field sales group expertise to provide market volume and margin analysis for new product launches
  • Serve as the liaison between Schaeffler's Global Product Management Team and North American manufacturing facilities for sourcing, manufacturing 'know how' expertise, and transfers
  • Determine which products will be offered from stock for our OE and aftermarket business, determine forecasts, and maintain optimum fill rates while preserving working capital
  • Understand and recommend where we take business with low margins to grow volumes, as well as phase in and phase out of new and existing products

Job Requirements

Qualified candidates will have: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering degree
  • 2-3 years experience to include either related industrial bearings product knowledge or related industry experience
  • Excellent computer systems aptitude with ERP and CRM systems; previous SAP experience a plus
  • Strong project management, presentation, and data analysis skills, with advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to interact with cross-functional teams
  • Self motivated with strong work ethic and the ability to work well in a high pressure, matrix environment
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time
