Job Description

Schaeffler, a global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking a Group Leader – E-Motor Industrialization for the Wooster, OH campus.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for setting up and optimizing the production process of E-motors to exceed quality and quantity goals, and reduce cost. 
  • Oversee the installation of new capital equipment and determine the layout, within time and budget constraints. 
  • Posses a firm understanding of tooling and gauging principles.  This position also requires a working knowledge of determining new and existing product and process costs as well as analyzing current and future manufacturing process.  
  • Coordinate with all departments for proposed product processing and improvements.  This individual must be self-motivated and conscientious of continuous process improvements that might be made to increase productivity and improve quality.
  • Work closely with the Design, Testing and Prototype teams as well as Engineers in other departments.  
  • Promote a cooperative, customer focused and team attitude and also work to promote professional development of direct reports.
  • Create training and development plans, coach employees, and provide feedback in regards to employee performance, quality, and safety.
  • Mentor and empower employees to foster a team environment and have strong conflict management skills, be able to maintain employee work schedules, manage design work of multiple projects, and have ability to make effective decisions.
  • Travel of approximately 10% may be required for this position.  

Job Requirements

 Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related engineering field.
  • At least two years experience in the automotive industry, 5+ years preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of automotive manufacturing industry
  • Ability to lead a team to complete work and meet goals
  • Project management and capacity planning
  • Knowledge of the Product Development Process
  • Background in FMEA and production documentation
  • Possess strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritize and make decisions
