Job Description



The  Leader – Group E-Motor Industrialization is responsible for guiding the design, layout and evaluation of production processes as well as setting up and running the manufacturing of electric motors in Business Unit Hybrid Modules in Schaeffler Group North America at the Wooster, Ohio facility. 

The  Leader – Group E-Motor Industrialization is responsible for setting up and optimizing the production process to exceed quality and quantity goals, and reduce cost.  This will involve overseeing the installation of new capital equipment, and determining the layout, within time and budgetary constraints.  The Leader – Group E-Motor Industrialization should posses a firm understanding of tooling and gauging principles.  This position also requires a working knowledge of determining new and existing product and process costs as well as analyzing current and future manufacturing process.  This person will coordinate with all departments for proposed product processing and improvements.  This individual must be self-motivated and conscientious of continuous process improvements that might be made to increase productivity and improve quality.
 
The Leader – Group E-Motor Industrialization will work closely with the Design, Testing and Prototype responsible persons within the group as well as engineers in other departments.  The Leader – Group E-Motor Industrialization must provide oversight and direction to employees in accordance with Schaeffler policies and procedures as well as assist employees in setting goals. This position must lead employees by creating training and development plans, coaching employees, and providing feedback in regards to employee performance, quality, and safety. The  Leader – Group E-Motor Industrialization will be required to mentor and empower their employees to foster a team environment and have strong conflict management skills, be able to maintain employee work schedules, manage design work of multiple projects, and have ability to make effective decisions. Due to the fact that this individual will interface frequently with both local and international Schaeffler associates, as well as with external customers; excellent communication skills are critical. Travel of approximately 10% may be required for this position.  The Leader – Group E-Motor Industrialization is also expected to adhere to the core hours of 8am to 5pm while maintaining the minimum of 40 hours per week.
 
 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, have close visual acuity and  hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to maneuver objects, tools.   The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, bend, push, pull,  kneel, or  crouch.   The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 65 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
 
This position is required to know and understand the current specifications of the Quality Policy and procedures, as well as the Safety and Environment Policy and procedures and contribute to the achievement of the company objectives.  In addition to the duties listed above, the position holder must carry out tasks assigned by his supervisor that are essentially related to his duties.

Job Requirements



 Formal prerequisites for the position

 Technical:                  
- Applicable engineering & physics knowledge
- Knowledge of e-motor manufacturing
- Advanced knowledge of the automotive manufacturing Industry
- Project and capacity planning
- Knowledge of the Product Development Process
- Background in FMEA and production documentation
- Develops manufacturing equipment proposals by
  evaluating manufacturing processes and requirements.

Educational:
