Job Description

Schaeffler, a global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking a NAPA Key Account Manager - Central/Midwest is to support Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket's NAPA customer base.     

The primary responsibility of a NAPA Key Account Manager is to achieve the business plan or budget for the assigned customers.  This responsibility includes maintaining relationships with existing and target customers, providing sales and technical support / training.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Train NAPA Undercar Sales Team on clutch products.
  • Identify markets and product opportunities in the market.
  • Prepare a weekly and monthly call activity plan for review with Manager – Sales
  • Prepare monthly product forecast.
  • Focus efforts to meet the monthly sales plan.
  • Obtain customer, consumer and competitive information and feed to region and corporate management.
  • Prepare a monthly Good News/Bad News report that is distributed to Sales Management and Product Line Staff.
  • Maintain and improve customer relations with Undercar Sales Staff, Jobbers, DC’s and AutoCare Centers.
  • Maintain accurate reports and records as well as review order status and customer sales activity.
  • Promote and sell product through seminars and direct customer contact.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and orders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide formal call reports for each major change in business accounts at key accounts and document new potential.
  • Obtain data on new/existing applications where application engineering is required.
  • Become technically proficient in clutch product applications to be able to review and present proposals to customers.
  • Responsible for the execution of customer training.
  • Review COGS programs on quarterly basis with customers and Manager - Sales.

Job Requirements

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Knowledge of NAPA Systems
  • Aftermarket sales experience preferred
  • Four year college degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Negotiation skills
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Ability to manage, train and develop subordinates and interface with other departments effectively
  • Ability to multi-task with accuracy and effectiveness
