Job Description

This position will ensure that product is designed to intended level of function, durability and cost with focus on manufacturability and application in customer vehicle system.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Develop electric variable cam timing components, oil control valves, solenoids while  adhering to design guidelines, lessons learned, and benchmarking results
  • Ensure function and durability of Schaeffler components and sub-assemblies in the customer vehicle system
  • Responsible for coordination/interface with internal Resources/Groups (Product Design, Product Validation, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Supply Base, etc.) with timely delivery of customer requirements
  • Coordinate verification of manufacturing and assembly feasibility
  • Coordinate Product Validation activities including structure FEA, fluid simulation (CAE)
  • Owner/Creator of product design FMEA for component

Job Requirements

Qualified candidates will have:
  • BSME or BSEE, plus minimum 2 years related experience 
  • Basic to good knowledge of engines, engine components, hydraulic fluid behavior, electro-mechanical systems including solenoids.
  • Working knowledge of testing, analysis, and design verification plan and report (DVP&R) process, DFMEA
  • Good communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills.
  • Good focus on goal realization and task management, team player.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office software, email etiquette and internet.
  • Strong command of engineering principals- materials, design, dynamics, structures, and manufacturing, thermodynamics
