Job Description

The Barden Corporation a division of Schaeffler Group USA, is seeking a qualified Team Leader/2nd Shift to support our Danbury, CT location. The Team Leader will work with supervisor and will assist in the set up and operation of all A&E grinding machinery. Follow established practice and refer unusual problems to supervisor.  Ability to communicate both written and orally and possess strong interpersonal skills.  Required to be the recognized leader in all technical requirements of the department (example – must be proficient in all areas within respective area) Basic math and computer skills are required.  Experience with various gages.  Must be certified to inspect per quality requirements. High school or equivalent in practical shop experience is required. 

Job Requirements

  • Train, audit and maintain training matrix for employees within respective area of responsibility.
  • May be required to conduct formal audits of quality on all employees as directed.
  • Contact and arrange for source inspection(s) for Assembly area only.
  • Interface with production control as required.
  • Back up supervisor in all administrative functions, including ADS and CAR’s, excluding disciplinary action.
  • Work on any operation within department according to standard procedures and instructions. 
  • Set up fixtures, equipment/machines or gages as required. 
  • Maintain routine records, create and maintain basic spreadsheets.
  • Conduct routine investigation into problems. 
  • Issue daily work as jointly planned with supervisor.
  • Participate in projects (such as MOVE and related engineering projects).
  • Interpret manufacturing and assembly drawings and route cards.
  • Required to be the recognized leader in all technical requirements of the department (example – must be proficient in all areas within respective area)
  • Maintain and record various bearing dimensions and functional characteristics employing pneumatic, hydraulic and electronic equipment of both standard and improvised nature.   
  • Perform functional testing, customer’s inspection and packaging operations.  Work on complex unit assemblies with guidance from supervisor and engineering, for Assembly areas only. 
  • Maintain and continuously improve cleanliness of area.
